Hermes Backup is a private backup utility operated by the owner of egnelis.com for personal disaster-recovery purposes.
Google Drive access
Hermes Backup uses Google OAuth to access the owner's Google Drive
account. It requests the limited
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file permission.
This permission is used only to create, upload, verify, manage, and remove backup files and folders created or specifically made available to Hermes Backup.
Hermes Backup does not request general access to unrelated files stored in the user's Google Drive.
Data uploaded to Google Drive
Backup archives are encrypted before they are uploaded to Google Drive. The Google Drive copy is intended solely for secure off-site storage and disaster recovery.
How Google user data is used
Google user data accessed through the Google Drive API is used only to provide the backup and disaster-recovery functions described on this site.
Google user data is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, data brokerage, or training generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Data sharing
Hermes Backup does not sell Google user data and does not share Google user data with third parties, except where required to operate the requested backup service or where required by law.
Data storage and security
Backup data is encrypted before transmission to Google Drive. Access credentials used by Hermes Backup are protected and are not intentionally included in backup archives or published on this website.
Access to the Google account can be revoked at any time through the Google Account security and third-party access settings.
Data retention and deletion
Backup files are retained only for disaster-recovery purposes and may be deleted according to the backup retention policy or manually by the account owner.
Revoking Hermes Backup's Google authorization prevents future access to Google Drive through that authorization.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The use of information received from Google APIs by Hermes Backup will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Scope of this service
Hermes Backup is currently intended solely for the personal use of its operator and is not offered as a public backup service.
