Last updated: 2 September 2026
Hermes Backup is a private backup utility operated by the owner of egnelis.com for personal backup and disaster-recovery purposes.
Purpose
Hermes Backup is used to create and store encrypted backup archives of a privately operated Hermes system in the owner's Google Drive account.
Authorized use
This service is intended only for use by its operator and authorized accounts. It is not offered as a public backup service.
Google Drive access
Hermes Backup uses Google OAuth and the limited
drive.file permission for files and folders created by, or
specifically made available to, the application.
Google Drive access is used only for backup storage, verification, retention, deletion, and disaster recovery.
Security
Backup archives are encrypted before upload to Google Drive. Reasonable measures are used to protect authentication credentials and recovery material.
Availability
Hermes Backup is provided for personal use without any guarantee of continuous availability. Backup and recovery procedures may be changed or discontinued by the operator at any time.
Responsibility
The operator is responsible for maintaining access to the encryption recovery key, Google account, and other credentials required to restore encrypted backup archives.
Changes
These terms may be updated when the backup system, Google API access, or operational requirements change.
Contact
Enquiries may be directed to the contact address published through the Hermes Backup OAuth application configuration.
